Calvary YTH

Built for students

Wednesdays at 7 p.m. for everyone in grades 6 to 12.

About Calvary YTH

Our mission is to empower students in Naperville to Know God, Find Freedom, Discover Purpose, and Make a Difference.

Calvary YTH exists so that junior high and high school students (grades 6 to 12) can take a series of next steps that lead them closer to Jesus.

We help students study the words and ways of Jesus so they can build a biblical worldview. As they apply what they learn, our students show the people around them what it looks like to be more like Christ in their words and actions.

When and where

Wednesday nights are for everyone in grades 6 to 12. On Sundays, junior high and high school meet separately.
Wednesdays at 7 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall while the Calvary Kids remodel is underway. Enter through Door 1. Prayer at 6 p.m., hangout at 6:30 p.m.
Junior High, Sundays at 9 and 11 a.m. Grades 6 to 8 start with worship in the Seminar Room, then head to the gym for a devotional and small groups while the Calvary Kids remodel is underway.
High School "Varsity", Sundays at 9 a.m. Grades 9 to 12 in Room 223. Meet for Varsity to grow in faith, build community, and develop a heart to serve.
High School Worship, Sundays at 11 a.m. Worship with the adults and sit together in the student section of the Auditorium, front and center in section 3.

What to expect

Come for the fun. Stay for what's real. Every week has room to laugh, worship, and talk honestly about life and faith with people your age.
A warm welcome: Someone will be at the door to say hi, show you around, and help you meet people.
Worship: Music led by students and leaders who mean it.
A real message: Teaching from the Bible that connects to school, friends, and family.
Friends: People who'll know your name and notice when you're not there.
First time?

Here's what your first Wednesday looks like.

Walking in somewhere new is a little nerve-racking. Here's exactly what to expect, so you can just show up and have a good night.

  • 6 p.m., Prayer. Optional pre-service prayer for anyone who wants to come early.
  • 6:30 p.m., Hang out. Doors open. Activities, games, and time to meet people.
  • 7 p.m., Service. Worship and a message about real life and following Jesus.
  • Where to go. While the Calvary Kids remodel is underway, Wednesday nights meet in the Fellowship Hall at 9S200 State Route 59, Naperville. Enter through Door 1. Look for the Calvary Youth sign and the people holding welcome signs.
  • Nobody's putting you on the spot. Wear whatever you want and bring a friend. You won't be asked to stand up or say anything. Just come as you are.

YTH Groups

A group that knows your name.

Big nights are fun, but YTH Groups are where friendships happen. Junior high small groups meet Sundays at 9 and 11 a.m., right after worship. High school groups meet every other Monday, 6 to 8 p.m., off campus. Either way, students land in a smaller group with leaders who get to know them.

High school groups this fall: Nov. 9, Nov. 23, Dec. 7 and Dec. 21

It's a place to ask real questions, pray for each other, and have adults in your corner who aren't your parents (sorry, parents).

Get involved

There's a place for you to serve.

Students and adults both make all this happen!

Adults

Love students? We're always looking for leaders who will show up, listen, and point students to Jesus.

For parents

Parents, we're on your team.

You're the biggest influence in your student's life. We want to back you up, keep you informed, and make sure your kid is safe and known.

Safe and cared for

Every leader is background checked and trained. Students check in each week, and there are always two or more adults with students.

Frequently asked questions

Good questions.

From students and parents alike. Don't see yours? Reach out anytime.

Can I bring a friend?

Yes, please! Friends are always welcome, whether or not they go to church anywhere.

What should I wear?

Whatever you're comfortable in. Hoodies, sports practice clothes, school clothes. All good.

Does it cost anything?

There's no cost to attend on Wednesdays or Sundays. Trips and camps each have their own price, listed when sign-ups open. Follow @ythofcalvary on Instagram to hear first, or send us a message with any questions.

My student is shy. Will they be okay?

Absolutely. Our leaders watch for new students and help them connect, and nobody gets put on the spot. It usually only takes a week or two to feel at home.

Is 6th grade too young for Wednesday nights?

Not at all. Wednesdays are for grades 6 to 12, and junior high students also have their own small groups on Sundays at 9 and 11 a.m. with others their age.

Where do I drop off?

On Wednesdays, drop off at Door 1 for the Fellowship Hall, where YTH meets while the Calvary Kids remodel is underway. On Sundays, junior high starts in the Seminar Room.
